Baseball Card Shops in/near Atlanta?

I was wondering if anyone could suggest any card shops in the Atlanta area. Preferably ones that you have been to yourself. I am determined to make it to one before the world ends this December. Three years running this blog and I have yet to set foot in a genuine card shop. THAT MUST CHANGE!

Or even to upcoming card shows. I haven't been to those either. I don't even know what they tend to be like or what to excpect. This to, must change.

  1. The two in Atlanta I go to are Champion Sports Cards in Kennesaw and Freedom Card Board in Alpharetta. I also go to JT Sports and BP sports in Marietta occasionally.

I've been going to Champion for over 10 years now. It has a ton of inventory. Wax from the 80's to today for very fair prices. Three cases of relics and autos. More $5-$10 boxes with rtelics and autos behind the counter. Lots of boxes with star cards for under $10. A half dozen 50 cent boxes with stars, inserts and Braves. Lots of vintage singles. Tons of memorabilia. If you go there and can't find something you want, then you're not really a card collector. Ross is the owner and he's a great guy. If you're really lucky Ross' mom and dad will be there (they ran the shop when I first started going there). It's on the west side of Atlanta and would be quite a trip from SC, but it's worth it if you're in town.

Freedom Card Board is run by Chris, who also runs the online Freedom Card Board forum. His shop is fairly new but they are adding new inventory all the time. Half the store is sports cards, the other half gaming and comics. they have a bunch of newer wax boxes, cases full of high dollar relics and autos, a few boxes of cheaper relics and autos and several boxes of dime/quarter card that are well stocked. It's located up Georgia 400 so it's a little closer but it's kind of tricky to find.

JT's and BP Sports are more memorabilia than cards, but they both have a decent stock of autographs and Braves cards. They are not bad shops, but I'm not sure they're worth a special trip to Atlanta just to go there. BP sports is having a Jason Heyward Signing on January 28th.

Card Shows are few and far between in Atlanta other than Roger's vintage show I just went to last weekend. It's really really cool if you like Vintage stuff and is usually held 15 minutes away from Champion, BP and JT's. The next one should be in April.

Here's the websites so you can judge for yourself. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions.

    1. There are 3 monthly card shows in the Atlanta area. North Fulton sports collectibles show in Roswell is on the first SUnday of the month, the East Cobb sports Collectibles show in Marietta is usually on the 2nd Sunday of the month and the North Atlanta show in Dunwoody is on the 3rd sunday. All shows have 13-20 dealers and 30-40 tables. You can go to the SCD calendar http://www.sportscollectorsdigest.com/showcalendar

  2. Thanks so much. This is really helpful. I had googled and got Champion Sports Cards, but I like hearing what people have to say since it would be a whole day trip.

Hopefully I'll get to go soon. Or it could be longer. I may be going to Cumming for the Brave Caravan and we just can't make that many trips out of town. ...I wish I could teleport places.

  3. I second that thanks. I have got a couple Braves games in the works for the spring and summer. I'll be looking for some where to go before the game and I'm sure one of these will fall into my path. Up here in Chattanooga, there are only three hobby store. Only one of them is dedicated to only sports.
