I procrastinate. I procrastinated about writing this post. I have procrastinated about writing other posts which should have been done days ago. I am still procrastinating now, or well actually I am distracted as the Mentalist is on.
I finally wrote up my 2010 needs today. ....Topps base that is. the one I said I would do as soon as I put my first cards in my spiffy red album, then when I bought a few more packs, then when I saw others had their want list and the once more when I saw more want lists.
I finally bit the bullet when I say dayf''s post about Target blasters.
..and it had nothing to do with his asking for our needs of the topps base set.
Ok, so that above post is a lie. It had everything to do with it.
I lie. I lay as well and lie down. I have also lain down.
On some other notes of 2010 topps.
I WILL NOT BUY ANY MORE BLASTERS!
...maybe cereal boxes. Or I think that is what you call em. The boxes for 9.99 with 50 cards or so?
Rack packs and double rack packs for sure and they are cheap and so am I. well.. poor, cheap impies you have money but just don't want to spend it.
I am getting more "When they where young" thanks to you guys.
The blacks border cards are all that and a bag of chips. I LIKE THEM!
P.S I completely forget to discuss the title of my post IN my post.
Which is.
...I am a lot further off from my want list of topps 210 than I thought
P.P.S is this also a ploy to beg for your doubles?
...No, of course NOT. Would I lie?
I did enjoy rambling though.

When They Where Young
I don't really care for most of the 2010 topps inserts. Or well, I shouldn't say that as I do find the cards interesting. I just have a hard enough time getting the base set and then you add in the half a dozen inserts and it seems you will never finish the set.
...Of course I have yet to finish any set due to missing a few cards, but that is another story for another day.
Anyhow, back to the topic. I love the "When they where young" insert, mainly because the girl part of me finds the little ball players cute. Plus they have a Chipper and McCann. Or I thought they did. They had better anyhow.
Currently I have a total of one cards. Whoo! This is where I will likely need YOUR help. Yes YOU. If you don't care for the set, or have doubles I will gladly take them off your hands. Plus I have cards from the other inserts so we can trade and I don't just sound like a begger. I don't have a lot of doubles of the base cards, but I WILL... later.
Now for Qu... qu.. questions!
Do you happen to have a favorite insert this year? Or a least favorite?
OH,OH, OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!
and to those I owe packages they where sent out TODAY. Later than I wanted, but it was the best I could do. One goes waaaaaay up north. I pray it doesn't get lost.

My one and only set.
At the beginning of the year, I made a resolution to stick with only one set.
That set will be 2010 topps. Why 2010? Because I already bought a few packs.;P Plus, minus the inserts and the blasters (someone want to tell me you only get 8 cards a pack in the blaster when you get 10 cards a pack otherwise?) I like the set and they readily avalible at wal-mart and target.
I also have binders of 2006, 2007, and 2008 topps.
As for last year's, I only have about twenty measly cards. I had three blaster boxes, but those where from wal-mart with the black borders. Maybe they will have em for cheap somewhere.
I even have a binder already.

As soon as I get a pack of cards home I sort them in the album.

I just hope I haven't screwed up my counting along the way. Filling an empty slot with a card feels so good though.
Last year I focused more on upper deck, as well as buying any pack I came across, or trying to anyhow. Mainly UDX and UD icons
With the whole hoopla going on with Upper Deck, I don't know if there will be a UDX or those other sets other than the main. I will likely buy one or two packs of upper deck, just because.
My question to you is if you could only go after one set this year, what would it be and why?

Topps 2010 Blaster break down
I didn't know if this has been done already but I got the urge to do one, so here it is. If you want any of the inserts let me know. I just thought it would be interesting to see how many base cards you actually get, or how many when they where young, or the cards your mom threw out. As for rather this is the norm, I'd need another blaster or two to compare.
P.S If I spelled any names wrong let me know, the letters start running together after a while.

Throwbacks? More like "throw them back."
I bought a blaster of Topps 2010 today. There was only one of them and it had been stuffed between two other blasters of another product. Didn’t even see it at first and now I wished I hadn’t.
I failed to see the small print on the blaster until after I had purchased it... the one that said “2 packs of exclusive throwback parallel cards!”
I opened a pack that looked thicker than the others and at first I thought there something wrong with the cards, or the backs of them anyhow. Instead of the slick and shinny back that I was expecting, I was greeted with a gray card stock back. Turns out, they are the “throw back parallel cards.”
It was bad enough when wal-mart did the stupid back bordered cards last year. It was even worse that I had no clue and thought that the whole set was supposed to be that way, until buying a loose pack. It annoyed me enough that I didn’t want to buy any more cards as I had wasted my money in buying so many blasters to go toward completing the set.
My question for Topps is why? I really don’t understand the need for the cards. You have enough gimmick cards already. Maybe, just MAYBE if they where only one card per pack, or one card every other pack I could understand.
Why two packs in every box though? The whole blaster full made more sense than this. That means two less pack and 16 less cards that I will not have to build my set.
