Now that is a a lotta cards

My brother gave me a late christmas gift....

A box full of cards. Lots and lots of cards.   Cards of all years from the 80's to the 00's.  Cards from various companies, such as tri star, topps, and donruss (and likely  more) Cards from different sets. topps base, topps staduim and many more.  Along with baseall cards, there are basketball, football and even nascar thrown in.

...and more.  Actually they all fit in the box untill I took some out to look at them then couldn't get them to fit back in.

I have no idea what to do with them all.   So far I have been keeping all the Braves I have come across.  Thye have ranged from a Freedie Freeman to a Charlie O'Brian.  I really should try and sort through them. I just have no where to put them all.

The best chocolate bar in the WORLD (that is no longer made)

I  have always been a huge Chipper fan. Anything and everything that had   (...had?) his name or image on it had to be mine! mine! MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE!   Shirts (lots of them)  posters (lots of them) figurines (lots of them) cards (lots and lots of them with help from you) and more   I even have a Chipper trashcan.

Back in 98 when I was all of thirteen, they announced they would be making a candy bar in honor of Chipper.  Well, you can imagine my reaction.

....I can make even the most rabid of the Bebier fan girls seem tame in comparison

Here is a youtube link of the bar and what a (very young) Chipper thinks.

Of course when they came out I had to have them. I don't remember where I got them from, just that I did.   I had two. One to eat and one to save.    I am not a big fan of candy but I loved that Chipper bar with its crispy rice!   So much so, that I did something unthinkable.

I was all set to save the other bar when we went to the grocery store.  How I remember this and yet forget where I put the TV remote five minutes later... I do not know.  I  just know it was late and I was in my then step fathers red Toyota. He had stopped by Bi-lo and I decided to stay in the truck while he shopped.  I also know that  when I looked up at the street lights they reminded me of alien space ships. (I was strange, even then)  I already had the bar with me at the time.  I don't know why, but I did.  Likely because I was (...was?) and over zealous fan girl.

I looked down at his sexy  cute face on the  wrapper  smiling back at me and told myself this bar was the one I was going to save.  I must not give into temptation and eat  his chocolaty goodness.    Like Eve with the apple, I was to be tempted, but this time it would be a then 26 year old ballplayer who led me astray as I ripped into the bar and devoured every bit of it.

I tried to justify myself by saying I would keep the wrapper.  Anyone that knows me though, knows  that this did not happen.  I would lose my own head if it were not attached... and other parts.  Thus the wrapper was lost forever.  I remember being upset and then getting over it. From time to time though I would  be reminded of the Bar that was named after the one they called Chipper and the despair and disappointment would come flooding back.  I would eagerly search google in hopes of coming across any signs of the bar only to leave the computer chair (actually a  kitchen chair dubbing as a computer chair) dejected and heartbroken.

Then one day I was searching ebay, and I came across the most wondrous site ever. Someone was selling a Martin Prado  light switch cover.

No, It was the Chipper bar.   Actually there was a Prado light switch cover I really wanted, but that is a tale for another time and place.   My journey was not over though.  I had another adversary, even worse than my nonexistent will power... my Mom

See, it was under her account. I had the money I could give her, but she thought it was a waste a of money.  Back and forth we went like two zombies with a severed arm,   but I prevailed in the end.

Now...
 BEHOLD THE WONDROUS CHIPPER BAR

and no, I am not gunnna eat it this time!

Gimme your (EXLUSIVE) blue bordered (PARALLEL) cards! ...please.

So Wal-Mart has once again decided they where going to have their very own special blue bordered parallel cards or as the packs so excitedly exclaim.. LOOK FOR EXCLUSIVE BLUE-BORDERED PARALLEL CARS! COLLECT THE WHOLE SET!

.. lik.. OHHH MMM GEEE!!!!!

It makes set collecting  even that much harder for people that only have retail, unless they order online. WHY do they think this is a good idea?    Have they TALKED to any collectors out there?  Who decided this shit?  Wal-mart?  Topps?  Money grubbing bastards?

But uhh...  I really like the look of the blue bordered cards.  I even managed to pull a  blue Freddie and McCann.  They are just so purtty!

So.... I am going to try and complete a most impossible task, a task that will fail at, but I bask in the glory of failure, because, hey, it is baseball cards.

I am going to try  to build a (EXLUSIVE) blue bordered set.  This is where you guys come in.  I need your blue cards, all of them.  You can have my inserts... minus any Braves.  You can have the normal bordered cards, I just gotta get me some blue. Tell your friends or your baseball blogging friends! Tell your enemies... or well, baseball blogging enemies!  Tell anyone or well,  anyone that blogs and collects baseball cards!

Currently my want list is massive.  It will be easier to list the cards I HAVE.

15, 16,  20, 38,  39, 44, 56, 60, 93, 108, 114, 120, 129,  130, 133, 135, 140, 145, 151,  152,  164, 166,
177, 193,  205, 210,  214, 240, 250, 255, 259, 275, 280, 300, 322,  329

Plus whatever number McCannn and Freddie are.

Any help would be much appreciated.  oh, I switched e-mails .  Actually I lost my password to my old account because hotmail said my old one was to weak so I changed it and then forget what I changed it to and didn't enter any info to get it backed because I  always passed that part of hotmail by while loudly cursing it.  I don't want to put no damn phone number damnit!

My new one?

martinpradofan @ hotmail . com

I also want a Chipper patch card.  I'll trade my soul for that.

When you start dreaming about cards, its time to start blogging.

Have you ever looked up the word procrastinator in the dictionary? If you, had you would have seen my picture underneath.    Seriously it is there, go look it up.

..well it should be.

My last post was in october.  Oc frigging tober.  Chipper was still a Brave.  (God, I miss him already. )

In that time I have still been buying cards, but just not blogging about them.  Why?  See above.  I've been meaning to post and meaning to post and meaning to post and... well, you get it.

Generally my thoughts go something like this.

I really need to update my blog.  Ehh... I'll do it tomorrow.

 ...It is a vicious cycle.

Alas I have broke that cycle!

Mainly because I want cards

...and I miss you and getting padded envelopes in my mailbox.   The world neeeeeeeeeds more bloggers or the US does.   Cutting saturdays? Psshhhh... they would open up on SUNDAYS if everyone traded cards.  God wouldn't be angry either, because he happens to be a baseball fan.  Brave fan in fact.  How do I know this?  Cause God is perfect.

I do miss you guys though.  Sadly inetracting with you was just about the only social interaction I got with someone besides my mom and my cat and wow that sounds sad.

So yea I'm back to kick procrastinations ass like the  2013 Braves are gonna do this year.

WE GO THE UPTON BROS!

I miss prado though and ross. :(

I am so glad spring training is started up.  Can't wait for the first game.

....Back to cards.

I need some Prado cards   I hardly have any of his at all. .

I like the Topps 2013 set. Only thing I don't like is no Chipper in the base set or really anywhere.  He is in the patch cards you can get a wal-mart and I MUST GET THAT PATCH!

I'm gonna go for something crazy though. Something that I have bitched about in the past before.   Likely I will fail harder than ... than... Kim Kardashains marriages.   Seriously, our rooster screwing our hen lasts longer.

What is it?

STAY TUNED TO FIND OUT! (tomorrow)

Oh yea.. I just forgot I failed to mention anything about my post title.  I dreamed I got a pack of cards and they where all jesrey cards but one and one turned out to to be an Atlanta Brave greeting card with lots of autos on it.  I remembered being really excited and wanting to blog.   This likely had to do with me commenting on a link where a pack searcher posted how to search packs.

I insulted him.  This grown ass adult was talking about how to search packs and about the packs he had searched.  Coward never showed his face though.

Was it all a dream?

So,  I got a hobby box of Topps gypsy queen a few weeks back and waited a few days to open it.  During that time I had several dreams about opening up packs of cards.   The dreams where mainly about finding autograph or memorabilia cards.

Now I can't remember if I actually got a card or only dreamed I did.  I swear I remember opening one pack and getting a memorabilia card of a Cardinal.  The thing is,  I can't find the card anywhere and I have looked everywhere it could possibly be. Also, I do have two auto and two jerseys that I know are real, which leads me to believe it could have been a dream (It says you get 2 autos and 2 memorabilia cards on the box)

I swear I really did get that card though. I remember getting excited when I got it.  I remember feeling it up (that sounds dirty)  That leas me to move my bed, flip my mattress,  and tear up my room in an attempt to find the card.

I would say I am losing my mind, but I never had it to start with.  Has anyone ever done anything similar? ..anyone?  ..anyone at all?

I also think I am going to try and build the set.  Gypsy Queen 2012 that is.  I'll post my hits later which may be up for trade.

WHAT THE HELL?!

THAT WAS THE MOST MORONIC CALL I HAVE EVER HEARD!  THAT WAS IN THE OUTFIELD YOU BLIND ASS MOTHER FU...

*deep breath*

*deep breath*

One game wild card between the Braves and Card.

We are down by 3 in the 8th inning  We have two men on base and Simmons comes up.

Simmons hit a ball in the outfield.  Two guys started for the ball and because of a miss communication   it dropped in between them.  Awesome right?   Until  the pea brained umpire called an infield fly rule and Simmons was called out..

An infield fly rule (which  had to look up) is called when an infielder purposely lets a ball drop so they can get a double or even triple play.

Firs,t it was not an intentional out.  It was a an error, like the braves have done all evening.  Second, it was in the OUTFIELD!

...

....

....

I have swore more in the last few minutes that I have done all month

How the hell can  an umpire be that stupid?  The call makes no damned sense  I don't even know.. I/...

Game Pictures 8/16

The August 16th game was the best game I have ever been to.  Two home runs by Chipper and one by Heyward.  Kris Medlen pitched an awesome game.  Oh yea, and I got my bobblehead.  Got there are 2:30 for it.  Well... plus I had tickets to batting  practice and had to be there by 4. I was still scared I would be late and not get my bobblehead though.

The seats were over near third base side. My mom swore they where near the first base side. Still really good seats though.   Didn't get on TV but I did take my sign and I got it signed by a couple of players during BP.  Terry Pendleton even signed.  Paul Janish, Reed Johsnon, Prado and Ross also signed.

The pictures are out of order.  It is a bitch and half trying to move them with blogger.  Or else I'm just stupid.

and here it is in all his bearded glory.

Eddie having fun.  They did a team picture during BP.

Picture with prado

and ross!

Dunno what he was pointing at
